A new behind-the-scenes video from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 shows Jim Carrey shaving his head for real in his upcoming Dr. Robotnik makeover scene. At the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, it appeared Robotnik had met his end, falling from his massive robot seemingly to his doom. However, much like Agent Stone was revealed to still be alive in the post-credits scene, the trailer for the third installment revealed the Doctor will be coming back, this time as a potential ally for Sonic and his friends.
Now, Sonic the Hedgehog has released a new video showing Carrey getting his hair shaved for real by Agent Stone actor Lee Majdoub in his makeover scene from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Majdoub describes how honored he is to shave Carrey’s real hair off, and how trusted he felt to do so. The Robotnik actor can be heard saying he’s had his hair “for a year and a half,” showing just how dedicated he is to the role by having his co-star cut it off. Check out the full video below:

Carrey Came Out Of Retirement To Reprise His Role
When the sequel was first announced, it appeared almost every established character would be returning for the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. However, shortly after the second film was released, Carrey announced his retirement from acting, with the only stipulation being if he was given a script he truly wanted to commit himself to. This bodes well for the third installment, since the actor not only ended his short-lived break, but also shaved off his real hair, clarifying his dedication to making a memorable next chapter for Robotnik.
