New Sonic the Hedgehog 3 posters have confirmed the return of another sequel character, revealing even more familiar faces will be appearing in the new movie. The core cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 consists of familiar faces from the franchise’s history, with Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba) leading the fight against Shadow (Keanu Reeves). Dr. Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik (both Jim Carrey) will also be involved, alongside returning humans introduced in the films like Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub), Tom (James Marsden), and Maddie (Tika Sumpter).
Now, Paramount Pictures has revealed new posters for characters in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which confirm that Shemar Moore’s Randall Handel will be coming back in the sequel. Originally Rachel’s (Natasha Rothwell) fiancé, he was revealed to be a GUN agent only marrying her to capture Sonic for the agency. He can be seen sporting a GUN outfit in his poster, looking serious about his position. Check out all the character posters below:

GUN’s Role In The Story Will Be Major
The Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T. star’s return to the franchise emphasizes how Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s story will have a major focus on GUN and their attempts to hunt down Shadow. In the film’s first trailer, it’s revealed the agency is recruiting Sonic and his friends to track down and capture the Ultimate Lifeform. This could involve them working closely with Randall, a twist on their relationship in the second movie when he was responsible for Sonic and Tails’ capture. However, it’s unclear how much they can trust him and the organization as a whole.

The posters also show Rachel in a GUN uniform, potentially hinting at her needing to infiltrate the organization later in the film. This could hint that they turn against Sonic and his friends, explaining her poster and why Tom was sporting one of their coats in the trailer. Randall could be at the center of this betrayal once again, with the film possibly mirroring the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by having Sonic and friends break out of containment to save the world once more.
