The Rotten Tomatoes score for Sebastian Stan’s The Apprentice is now available, and it looks very solid. The Emmy-nominated Stan, more widely known as Bucky in the MCU, will be starring alongside Jeremy Strong (Succession) in a film that’s marketed by director Ali Abbasi as a character study. The biopic explores the 70s/80s-era Donald Trump in New York, where he falls under the tutelage of Roy Cohn (Strong), a cutthroat attorney who sees his potential and shapes him into the former president viewers are familiar with today.
Days before its release, the Tomatometer for The Apprentice has been revealed on Rotten Tomatoes. With 79 reviews at the time of this writing, the film stands at a respectable 78%. Much of the movie’s success can be attributed to Stan’s electric performance as a young Trump.
What This Means For The Apprentice
The Apprentice Has Lots Of Award Competition
October is usually a month full of movies worth seeing, as it marks the start of the award season. This October sees several worthy contenders, including Joker: Folie à Deux, which didn’t see the same success as the original movie, getting a rotten Tomatometer of 33%. Saturday Night, which also has a wide release this week, has a 79% Tomatometer, and the Sean Baker and Mikey Madison-led Anora currently has an impressive 98% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics.

2024’s Donald Trump biographical drama, The Apprentice, is out soon. Here’s everything we know about where and when you can watch the divisive movie.
The Apprentice’s opening weekend is stacked with worthy contenders. On top of Saturday Night, the film shares an opening weekend with the Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh-led We Live in Time, which has an 84% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics with 50 reviews. It has some work to do if it wants to perform well at the box office. The Apprentice’s controversy surrounding it — the Trump campaign has threatened to sue the filmmakers — should at least entice moviegoers who are curious about the release drama.
Our Take On The Apprentice’s Tomatometer
It Doesn’t Take Any Political Side
The Apprentice’s Rotten Tomatoes score bodes well for its opening weekend, but I believe that the controversy associated with the movie is enough to draw in viewers, as the film’s based on a controversial figure. However, one review from The Washington Post says that the movie refuses to take a political side. While this neutral view of The Apprentice may be frustrating to viewers who either want to see a scathing expose or a puff piece that holds Trump up on a pedestal, I admire the objectivity because biopics should show both the good and bad sides of its subjects.
