Denis Villeneuve reveals that work on Dune: Part Three has already begun and teases the filming timeline for the sequel. Villeneuve directed and co-wrote the scripts for Dune and Dune: Part Two, both of which were well-received by critics and general audiences. Dune: Part Two was also a box office hit and was the highest grossing movie of 2024 until it was dethroned by Inside Out 2.
While speaking with Deadline, Villeneuve shared that “I’m in the writing zone right now” for Dune: Part Three and will “go back behind the camera faster than I think” for the story that will “finish the Paul Atreides arc.” Check out his other comments below:
Like Herbert did with Dune: Messiah, I think it’ll be a great idea to do something completely different. The story takes place like 12 years after where we left the characters at the end of Part Two. More to come…
