Crawl will officially be getting a sequel. The 2019 movie, which was produced by Sam Raimi, is set in Florida and follows a young woman (Kaya Scodelario) who becomes trapped in a flooded basement with a hungry alligator while trying to rescue her father (Barry Pepper) during a hurricane. Talk of a sequel has occured since 2021, when director Alexandre Aja shared that a screenplay for the project was in the works, but no word came on the possible Crawl 2 for several more years.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Crawl 2 is in development with an eye on shooting in Europe in Fall 2024. Alexandre Aja is set to return as both director and producer, helming a movie that will center on a new storyline set in New York City with new main characters.
