Wicked crosses another domestic box office milestone as 2024’s third highest-grossing movie. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the first half of the two-part film adaptation of the Wicked Broadway musical arrived in theaters on November 22, and is currently in its fourth week of showing. Having just crossed the $524 million milestone worldwide, the film’s box office continues to hit more marks.
Wicked is currently sitting at the No. 3 spot in the top 2024 movies at the domestic box office with more than $361 million, according to The Numbers. The Universal film is right behind Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, which amassed over $636 million at the domestic box office. Currently, the top spot is occupied by Disney’s Inside Out 2 with more than $652 million.
