Terrifier 3 Star Cast In New Horror Movie From Saw Director & Producer

A key Terrifier 3 star has been cast in The Monster, a new horror thriller from Saw director Darren Lynn Bousman and franchise producer Mark Burg. Alongside critical success for Terrifier 3, the gory slasher film has continued to top the box office, earning $43.8 million against a $2 million budget after less than two full weeks in theaters. Some of that praise has been given toward its cast, with performances that help the movie stand out, both through David Howard Thornton’s Art the Clown and the victims he torments.

Now, Deadline has confirmed Terrifier 3 star Lauren LaVera, who portrays Sienna Shaw, will be starring in Lynn Bousman’s upcoming horror thriller The Monster, starring opposite Djimon Hounsou. While LaVera’s role hasn’t been revealed yet, the story follows two young people scamming people by leasing them lavish apartments they don’t actually own. However, their scam gets flipped around when they learn of a real apartment owner housing a cryptic secret. The movie will film in Danbury, Connecticut in November, developed from a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer.

What Lauren LaVera’s Casting Means For The Monster

She’ll No Doubt Be Playing An Important Role

While Burg is one producer of The Monster, having also been a producer for every Saw movie, the new horror film is also being produced by Envision Media Arts’ Lee Nelson and David Tish. Lynn Bousman has directed four movies in the gory franchise, alongside multiple other horror films, like 2020’s Death of Me and 2023’s The Cello. As for LaVera, her reprisal on the cast of Terrifier 3 is her latest venture into the horror genre, while also recently having a role in Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novella The Life of Chuck.

The third chapter in the gory Terrifier series may have revealed key information about Art the Clown’s mysterious backstory and origins with a joke.

Given the description for The Monster, LaVera might be cast as one of the millennials in the film’s description, subjected to terror as she crosses paths with a secretive apartment owner. While it’s unclear if Hounsou will be portraying the film’s antagonist, he’ll at least have a prominent role that will include crossing paths with LaVera’s on a constant basis. It’s also unclear if the inclusion of the Terrifer star and Saw director means to expect lots of gore, although it remains a possibility regardless of the overarching premise.
