A new poster for Nosferatu has offered the best look yet at Bill Skarsgård’s terrifying vampire, teasing what to expect from Robert Eggers’ remake. The upcoming Nosferatu movie is a remake of the 1922 silent German film of the same name, which itself was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Since then, the film has become a horror classic, best known for introducing the idea that vampires can become injured when exposed to sunlight. The remake was previously announced in 2015, with Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse) attached to write and direct.
Now, Letterboxd has released a new poster for Nosferatu, showing Skarsgård as the vampire Count Orlok, submerged in shadow. Though his face is obscured by darkness, a beam of light from the top left reveals his claw-like hands and large jacket. Parts of his head can also be seen, including what looks to be hair combed to the side and deep eye sockets. Check out the new poster below:
Nosferatu was previously remade as Nosferatu the Vampyre by Werner Herzog in 1979.
More to come…
