Netflix’s adaptation of Emily Henry’s People We Meet on Vacation has added four new cast members. The 2021 book follows Poppy and Alex, two best friends who embark on a yearly summer vacation. At the start of the story, the two haven’t spoken in years after a trip culminated in a mysterious, friendship-breaking event, but they’re brought back together when Poppy invites Alex to accompany her to Palm Springs for another one of their typical adventures. Needless to say, sparks soon fly. People We Meet on Vacation will star Emily Bader as Poppy and Tom Blyth as Alex.
Now, Netflix has revealed four additional stars who will join Bader and Blyth in the movie. People We Meet on Vacation has officially cast Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Sarah Catherine Hook (First Kill), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris), and Lukas Gage (You). Their roles have not been disclosed. When commenting on the adaptation in conversation with Netflix, Henry said:
I’ve been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters. I truly could not feel more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex.
[About Bader and Blyth] I watched their chemistry read four times in 12 hours and I loved it more every single time. The very first time I was laughing out loud, and I got so emotional by the end.
