Aubrey Plaza’s New Movie Debuts With One Of Her Best Rotten Tomatoes Score In Her Career


The Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for My Old Ass. My Old Ass is an Aubrey Plaza comedy that tells the story of Elliott, a young woman who has to face her “old ass,” 39-year-old self during a crazy trip on mushrooms. In addition to Aubrey Plaza, My Old Ass features a leading cast including Maisy Stella, Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks, Maria Dizzia, and Seth Isaac Johnson. It is the sophomore feature from Megan Park, who also directed 2021’s The Fallout.

Now, the Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for My Old Ass. Currently, the film sits at a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score with 31 reviews in thus far. My Old Ass does not yet have an audience score, but will likely gain one in a couple of weeks when the film is released widely to theaters.

My Old Ass Is Now A Highlight In Aubrey Plaza’s Career

It Is One Of Her Highest-Rated Movies

So far, the My Old Ass reviews are praising the film for being both funny and profound. In addition to Plaza’s well-received performance, the critics also liked Stella, who The Guardian‘s Benjamin Lee called “a smart and instinctive young actor with a roughness around the edges.” Former Boston Globe film critic Ty Burr wrote that My Old Ass charmingly explores the angsts of leaving home and making choices even when you know some of them are going to smack you against the wall.” Overall, the consensus seems to be that My Old Ass is a great coming-of-age story.

While Stella is a relative newcomer in the role, Plaza is a highly established actor who has contributed her talents to countless films and TV shows. So far, My Old Ass is tied for the best Tomatometer across all of Plaza’s film work. It is tied only with Emily the Criminal, a 2022 Plaza film which also had a 94% Tomatometer and had an audience score of 79%. My Old Ass is also slightly above Plaza’s 2012 film Safety Not Guaranteed, which had a 91% score.
