Trap Digital Release Featurette Clip Spotlights M. Night Shyamalan’s Daughter Saleka As Lady Raven

M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap is coming to home video, and Screen Rant has a featurette clip in celebration of the event. Shyamalan’s 15th professional directorial effort is a thriller that tells the story of a serial killer evading a police blockade by attending a pop concert. The movie stars Josh Hartnett as the serial killer Cooper, Saleka Shyamalan as the pop star Lady Raven, Alison Pill, Ariel Donoghue, and more.

The featurette highlights the amount of work that was put into crafting a believable pop show, which included crafting incredible sets and writing a collection of music tailored to the fictional artist Lady Raven. Saleka’s Long History Of Collaboration With Her Father

M. Night Shyamalan’s Family Is Full Of Creativity

Although Trap sees Saleka collaborating closely with her father, it’s far from the first time the pair have worked together on a project. Saleka is primarily a singer and songwriter, and has often written music specifically tailored to one of her father’s projects. When Screen Rant interviewed Saleka for Trap, the singer/songwriter detailed that process starting with getting information from her father’s scripts. Saleka released a 14-track album Lady Raven tied to Trap alone, proving the proficiency of the writer.

Before Trap, a high-profile collaboration between Saleka and her father was on his movie Old. Saleka wrote a song called “Remain”, which was even sung by characters in the film. On a smaller scale than Trap, Saleka’s music still factored into the story in Old. Speaking with Popsugar, Saleka even revealed that there was a song written into the script by her father, who then requested that she be the one to write it.

Saleka also contributed a number of songs to her father’s Apple TV+ thriller series Servant. Saleka is never on screen in the series, but she voices a ‘90s R&B singer named Vivan Dale whose music is often heard in the show. Saleka even released an album called Servant: Songs from The Attic that contained seven songs written for the series. It certainly seems like Saleka continues to work even closer with her father on his projects, so it will be exciting to see what the pair cook up next.
