Popular 2024 survival thriller Under Paris has joined Netflix’s all-time most-watched list of movies on the streaming platform, coming in with a Top 3 viewership record. The French horror movie follows scientist and marine researcher Sophia (Bérénice Bejo) as she tries to save Paris from a giant shark that has appeared in the Seine while wrestling with past grief. The film has been a major hit for Netflix original movies in 2024 since its debut, coming in on weekly Top 10 lists multiple times.
Now, Netflix has confirmed that Under Paris is now one of Netflix’s all-time most-watched non-English movies, climbing all the way up to the Number 3 spot with 96.9 million viewers total having watched the movie. This puts it just under Society of the Snow‘s Number 2 spot with 98.5 million, and well ahead of Nowhere, which sports 85.7 million at Number 4. Given how relatively new the shark movie is, it’s unprecedented how quickly it was able to rise the ranks of the streaming service.
