1 DCU Batman Casting Dream Is Confirmed To Be The Perfect Choice In Detailed DC Art

Glen Powell becomes the DC Universe‘s new Batman in detailed fan concept art. Powell is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood at the moment, coming off a summer hit with Twisters. The actor has become a fan-favorite choice for multiple characters in the new DCU, though Powell has a DC dream role — Batman — and the star looks perfect for the DCU Batman’s The Brave and the Bold movie.

On Instagram, artist @21xfour shared intricate concept art of Glen Powell as Batman, showing what the actor could look like as the DCU’s Dark Knight.

The fan art features Powell as Batman and Bruce Wayne, with the actor looking like a pitch-perfect fit for both sides of the character. Powell’s version of Batman features the hero’s classic white eyes, which have not been used much in live-action. The casting for the DCU’s Batman has yet to start, and the art — as well as the actor’s skills — make a great case for Powell to appear in future DCU movies.

Could Glen Powell Be Cast As The DCU’s Batman?

The Actor Has The Skills For The Role

Talking to GQ UK, Powell revealed that he would be open to playing Batman. According to the actor, his version of the Dark Knight would be closer to Michael Keaton’s than Robert Pattinson’s from The Batman. Powell has become one of the most popular fancast actors for many DCU roles, such as the Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Booster Gold, and more. However, the actor reportedly has no interest in playing another hero that is not Bruce Wayne.

Powell would be an interesting choice for the DCU’s Batman. At 35, the actor is only a few years older than the DCU’s Superman, David Corenswet, who is 30. The two actors even appeared in Twisters together, with DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn reacting to a video of the Twisters cast learning that Corenswet had been chosen to play Superman. Previously, Gunn commented on how the new Batman could be a few years older than Superman, and though nothing is official regarding Batman’s age in the DCU, Powell would fit that range.

Powell has the acting skills to make the role his own. In movies like Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters, the actor showed that he would excel at playing the suave playboy persona that Bruce Wayne displays in order for his Batman activities to go unnoticed. In Hit Man, Powell explored the full range of his skills, playing a character who pretended to be several different people. The actor could dial up the intensity and dark nature of Batman with ease, making him a great choice for the DCU’s Dark Knight.
